Do you often fall asleep with the earphones in your ears? Recently it happens to me every day, I've already been addicted :) If you like it too, what music do you listen in these moments? Do you know any songs, which at night increase their power? What is good to listen in order to feel unusually? First I suggest Never Change (http://song-words.net/s/south-park-mexican-spm--albums-2208/never-change.html), and I'm waiting for your answers :]

Zoe

I prefer to sleep on my side, so the earphones don't work well. The time I am addicted to earphone music for sleeping is on long flights, especially between the US and Asia. Since I don't usually carry music, I am dependent on what the airline is offering.

My experience is that the best music for this purpose is not necessarily music I would like to listen to when I am awake and moving around. For rock or pop music a loop tape of the group Air Supply knocked me out for hours, but you couldn't pay me enough money to listen to them on solid ground. Sometimes I find "environmental music" which is more like "sound" than music works too. If I am hearing music that I like, then the reasons that I like it...I want to move with it or it makes me remember or think about things in my world....usually keep me awake.

Zoe, you didn't put much information in your profile. Can you at least tell us where you live? Your English is very good, really excellent, but I would guess it is not your first language. Excuse me if I am wrong. Also, regarding this, are you interested in specific comments on you English or are you really just interested in your topic, which is a good one.

Can you or anyone suggest any Vietnamese songs or artists that will put me to sleep (but not boring :D )

Mexican South Park is some strong Latin Rap! I checked them out on Rhapsody. I like them but they use some pretty strong "gangsta" language and themes  . Do you like their words or is it the rhythm that helps you sleep? I had never before considered Rap being restful, but I will give it a try (without the earphones!)

I'm going to post something a little bit different: "Classical" Music :o

I'm weird like that because I'm a musician. Anyway, this is my favorite piece of music. It's called "The Rite of Spring" or "Le Sacre du Printemps" and it was composed by Igor Stravinsky. The Rite was written as a two part ballet and debuted in Paris, France in 1913.

The Rite is unlike any other piece written before it. When the French heard it at the premier, there was fighting between people who liked it and people who absolutely hated it, which eventually led to a riot. The Rite of Spring is a series of episodes depicting a wild pagan spring ritual in which a young girl is chosen and must dance to her death in order to gain the benevolence of the gods of spring.

It won't put you to sleep, but I think this is a song that is stronger at night and will make you feel... some strange emotions. For me, listening to the Rite calms me down and relieves stress. :? Which is weird considering how dark and tense it is.

Well, here is a recording of the Rite of Spring. It is a little over 30 minutes long, but I hope that some of you will give it a try. If you don't like it, that's fine. In fact, my best friend, who even plays the same instrument as me, doesn't really like it. Enjoy! ...maybe.

Dear Zoe1964, as for me, I really love Enza's songs in the night. Her songs are likely to clean my soul, throw away all of my bad and selfish ideas I may have in the daytime. Two weeks ago, my father gave me his handphone. It's the first handphone in my life, and it can store Mp3, so i saved some Enza's songs in the handphone and listen to them at night when I sleep. My bed is next to the window and I can see the trees and the stars from it. It's excellent.
