I've just came to know one site that offers free downloadable textbooks. Registration is required.

www.freeloadpress.com

Also check out:
www.textbookrevolution.org (a collection of links to download from, no registration required)

The first one doesn't have many books at all, and the second one is still down. I was all excited for a minute there

Project Gutenberg is good for old books etc http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

It's good if you don't mind carrying your laptop to class. I get mine on Amazon - they're cheap, and you don't have to print them off.

Yeah that's the downside of e-textbook but a fairly latest laptop should weigh as much as two textbooks or less.

But my laptop screen always gets messy from the Hilighter.

Oops. I forgot Acrobat Reader does not have any kind of e-Hilighter. (Does it?) Well, you don't need it
