Bao Dai villa in Nha Trang

Unbelievable! I had the chance to stay at a King’s villa! This happened last week when I spent 2 nights at Bao Dai's Villas. It is one of the few remaining examples of French colonial architecture in Vietnam.
Built in 1923 as a holiday resort for the last Vietnamese King Bao Dai and Queen Nam Phuong, the Villas sit on a promontory of 120,000m2 of lush vegetation. The Villas overlook the South China Sea, its coastal islands and enjoy sea breeze all year round. There are 48 rooms in 5 original Villas and 2 newly-built blocks with modern facilities, 2 sea-view restaurants and 1 conference room.
The main restaurant, Bao Dai restaurant and Bar perched high on the peak provide excellent food from both Western and Vietnamese cuisines.
The second restaurant serves the private beach where guests can play tennis, enjoy a good swim, lie on the sand or take the boat to the islands for snorkeling or scuba-diving.
All guest rooms are provided with 2 beds, wardrobe, writing desk, air-conditioning, fan, mini-bar, IDD phone, satellite TV, bathroom with bathtub, hair dryer

Doc Let resort in Nha TRang
Having little money but still wishing to enjoy pleasant time in Nha Trang, I was introduced to 2 star hotel named Doc Let Resort and I felt very nice towards it. The Doc Let Resort is where you can have a great time. Bring the whole family as there is so much to do. Swimming on our private beach or in our large clean swimming pool. Jet ski, parasail, banana boat, snorkel, volley ball, badminton, tennis and much more. Hit the bar, play some billiards, enjoy the karaoke, get a massage or surf the internet. You can also take our speedboat tour to the islands or rent a bicycle, motorbike or car to explore the area. Guides are available if you need one. Room service is 24 hours a day and will serve on the beach as well. Our large restaurant is known for its great fresh seafood & Western, Asian and Vietnamese dishes. Airport pickup is free for groups

Medical Emergencies. The nearest hospital is in Phan Thiet, which is about 20 minutes from Mui Ne. Keep in mind, the further away you go to play, the further you are from medical facilities. There are no medical airlifts or speedboats. Kite centers may not have insurance or adequate first aid supplies and training. Don't assume you "they got you covered." Ask questions before you sign up! Serious injuries do happen here.

Swimming. Unfortunately some water sports enthusiasts are careless and ignore the safety of swimmers. Swimmers should not assume that kitesurfers can see or avoid them. Stay clear of launch and landing areas for your own safety. The best time to swim is early hours of the morning or early evening (usually when there are no windsurfers or kiteboarders in the water).

Caution: It should be noted that Mui Ne is otherwise a very safe beach for watersports. However, some other out-of-the-way beaches in this province, that are being recommeded by certain tour companies, are not safe for certain types of activity. An area near Khe Ga island is reported to be mined. Visitors should also not wander in the bush or canyons at the abondoned airstrip (the LZ Betty) on the way to Khe Ga, as it is known to contain unexploded ordnances and quicksand. Ganh Beach (near Mui Ne Village) has notoriously strong rip currents. Phu Quy Island is dangerous for water sports due to coral reefs, shallow water, and high populations of sharks.

Cat Ba is an island of approximately 140 sq.km in Halong Bay, Northern Vietnam. It is commonly used as an overnight hotel stop on inexpensive package tours to Halong Bay run by travel agents from Hanoi.
Cat Ba is the largest island in the Bay and approximately half of its area is covered by a National Park, which is home to the highly endangered Cat Ba langur. This golden-headed langur is rarely seen, as fewer than 100 specimens are thought to survive in the wild, although it is the subject of a well-organised conservation programme. The Park covers both land and marine areas and has a high biodiversity, although it is at risk from too rapid an increase in tourism. Other mammals in the Park include civet cats and oriental giant squirrels.
Cat Ba town, showing the limestone hills behind the waterfront strip
Many tour operators include an option of trekking in the National Park or canoeing on three-day tours; shorter tours generally only stay overnight in the small town of Cat Ba (population about 8,000) or on boats moored in Cai Beo bay, about 2km away from Cat Ba town. Cat Ba itself is attractively situated around a bay teeming with small boats, many of which belong to pearl or shrimp farmers, and can become very busy at weekends and during public holidays. The promenade has illuminations and a large fountain which only plays after dark; it is backed by a strip of cheap hotels and bars, but dominated by the wooded limestone hills behind. The island is a national park of Vietnam and was recognized by UNESCO in December 2004 as a Biosphere reserve of the world

Pu Luong proposed nature reserve is located in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts, in north-western Thanh Hoa province. To the north-east, the nature reserve is bordered by Mai Chau, Tan Lac and Lac Son districts, Hoa Binh province. The proposed nature reserve lies along two parallel mountain ridges, that run from north-west to south-east, and are bisected by a central valley. This valley contains several human settlements and a large area of agricultural land, and, hence, is not included within the proposed nature reserve.
The two mountain ridges in the proposed nature reserve have starkly contrasting landforms, based on their different substrates. The smaller, south-western ridge is made up of mostly igneous and metamorphic rocks, and consists of rounded forested hills and wide, shallow valleys. The larger, north-eastern ridge is composed of heavily dissected limestone karst, and is a continuation of the limestone range that runs from Cuc Phuong National Park to Son La province. Elevations in the proposed nature reserve range from 60 to 1,667 m.
The hydrology of the limestone ridge is complex, and there is little or no permanent surface water. On the south-western ridge, surface water is more common and streams are much less seasonal. However, the main drainage features of the proposed nature reserve are located in the central valley. This valley is not continuous but has a saddle at its mid-point, which forms the watershed between two small rivers. One of these rivers flows north-west along the valley, and joins the Ma river, which runs to the west and south of the proposed nature reserve. The other river flows south-east along the valley, and joins the Ma river further downstream
